MAUREEN ST. JOHN-DEAN JONES Maureen Jones is a native of Great Britain. She has earned five degrees in Economics, Telecommunications, Tourism, and Travel Management including an M.B.A. She has lived in the United States for over 30 years and has worked for many years in the corporate world as Vice President of Administration for several Fortune 500 companies. Her responsibilities included travel, meeting and incentives, and company divisions on a worldwide basis. Controlling costs within a company of 40,000 employees was a major function of her job. She had 17 cost centers under her. ![]() Maureen bought All Horizons Travel in 1989 and other agencies in 1995 and merged them into the present company. The 40 multi-lingual experts handle leisure, corporate, cruises, groups, and the meeting/incentive market. They are specialists in 39 countries and many cruise lines. A member of the prestigious Signature Travel Network consortium. All the staff are Destination Specialists. She has traveled extensively to over 120 countries and has taken 100 cruises. She gives over 60 lectures a year to organizations and is on several Advisory Boards. Maureen is a College Professor, teaching in the Travel Careers Program. Currently Maureen is on the Board and an active member of International Women in Travel, Association of Retail Travel Agencies, Pacific and Asia Travel Association, the Caribbean Tourist Association, and the Peninsula Travel Agency Owners Association. Director of International Federation of Women in Travel. An active member in 25 organizations. She is a certified Premier expert on Australia, one of only 100 agents in America with this ranking, and has additional certificates from the Northern Territory, Queensland, and Tasmania and other States. She was on the Queensland Great Barrier Reef Advisory Board. She was also on the Tourism Australia Strategic Planning Committee. She has won several Opal Awards, the highest honor given by the Australian Tourist Commission for excellence in marketing down-under and preparing outstanding itineraries. She is also a travel editor for the Australian-American Chamber of Commerce. In addition, she is a certified specialist for 39 countries, including the South Pacific, New Zealand, Scandinavia, Switzerland, the British Isles, Canada, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. She is a luxury cruise and small ship specialist also. Winner of the New Zealand 2007 Specialist of the Year Award, and the Luxury Travel Agent of the Year. Appointed to the World Luxury Travel Council. She is a contributing editor for three travel organizations newsletters and writes a weekly travel column for the Los Altos Town Crier newspaper as well as a quarterly column on Food and Wine, and Destination Honeymoons. |
