Day 1

Alice Springs Town Tour

Map of Alice Springs & Rock EscapesArrive in Alice Springs by midday and be transferred to your hotel. This afternoon enjoy a town tour of ‘The Alice’. Take in sights including the historic Telegraph Station and see the generally dry Todd River ‘running’ through the town. From atop Anzac Hill, take in panoramic views of the township and the rugged MacDonnell Ranges. Visit the School of the Air and the Royal Flying Doctor Service Base.

Stay: Alice Springs - Heavitree Gap Outback Lodge (Budget), Aurora Alice Springs (Standard), Crowne Plaza (First Class), Alice Springs Resort, Rivergum Rooms (Deluxe).

Day 2

Kata Tjuta (Olgas), Sunset Drinks

Kata Tjuta (Olgas)Depart Alice Springs and visit the Camel Farm to learn about these hardy animals. See the flat-topped Atila (Mt Conner) before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort. This afternoon depart for Kata Tjuta. On arrival, join a guided walk along the natural creek bed, deep into Walpa (Olga) Gorge. Early in the evening, enjoy a complimentary glass of wine while watching the setting sun cast Uluru (Ayers Rock) in an array of colours.

Two Night Stay: Ayers Rock Resort – Outback Pioneer Lodge (Budget, shared facilities), Outback Pioneer Hotel (Standard), Desert Gardens (First-Class), Sails in the Desert (Deluxe).

Day 3

Uluru (Ayers Rock) Sunrise, Base Tour, Mutitjulu, Mala Walk, Cultural Centre

Rise early to see Uluru at sunrise while enjoying a tea or coffee. Then join a guided walk to the waterhole and hunting ground of Mutitjulu. See ancient cave paintings and hear legends of Kuniya Tjukurpa (Python Dreaming). Next learn of the geology and flora of Uluru on the guided Mala Walk, exploring Kantju Gorge. Alternatively forgo the Mutitjulu and Mala walks to climb to the summit of Uluru and stand 348 metres above the desert floor. Visit the Cultural Centre and Maruku Arts and Craft Cooperative. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure, perhaps enjoy some of our optional activities.

Day 4

Ayers Rock Resort

This morning relax and enjoy the facilities of the resort before your transfer to Ayers Rock Airport.
