This is the best place to sail, and yacht rentals are out of Airlie Beach.  Captain Cook sailed thru this inland passage on Whit Sunday, hence the name.

There are 74 islands, top picks are: Hayman, Hamilton, and Daydream Islands. Hayman Island (private island) is a five star property very popular for honeymoons.  Great spa, and lovely accommodation. Like the East Wing the best.   Take a flight to Whitehaven Beach for a picnic.  

• Daydream Island is great for children, lots to do and see, reasonably priced.  Movies on the beach and a miniature golf course.
• Hamilton Island is large, and you need to rent a golf cart to get around to the various restaurants and harbor etc.   Several different levels of accommodation, at all prices.

Mo's Must Do –  take a Fantasea Cruise to the outer reef.  You travel in a high speed catamaran to Reefworld on the edge of Hardy Reef.  This is the largest offshore facility on the Great Barrier Reef and consists of two floating platforms with changing rooms, freshwater showers, children’s swimming enclosures, large uncrowded open sundecks and a lavish buffet lunch.   You can even stay overnight on boat.  Just room for 3 couples.
