The International Antarctic Center is extremely interesting to visit. You can take a ride in one of the actual vehicles they use to ride over the ice and snow. Great exhibit of equipment used in previous exploration. Christchurch is the gateway to the Antarctic. Indoor snow and ice experience will take 2-3 hours for a visit. Good café, and fantastic shopping.
