Map of Australia

Australia Coat of Arms

Made up of six states, New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia and two territories, Canberra the Capital, and the Northern Territory.

There is no where in the world like it. A country the size of mainland U.S.A. with a population of 20 million people and 99 million sheep. It is the driest continent on earth and 90% of its people live within a 100 miles of the coastline. The other 10% have to get their mail delivered by mail plane, and the Flying Doctor Service looks after their health.

The children in these remote parts attend the school of the air. This land was settled by convicts from Great Britain, with the promise when they had served their sentence they could settle in the new land. There are 7,000 beaches and the weather with which to enjoy them. You can snorkel the Great Barrier Reef one day and hike in the world’s second largest rainforest the next without changing hotels. The aboriginal people are l5% of the population and live mainly in the outback. Uluru (Ayers Rock) stands 1500 feet above ground and 3.5 miles below and seven miles around is held sacred by the world’s oldest indigenous people. The seafood, beef, fruit, wine and beer are export quality and the food is outstanding in all parts.

People plan a “one in a lifetime trip” then start to plan their second visit before the first one is over. This is a great place for a family holiday.

The three icons are Sydney, voted for the l0th year the best in the world to visit, the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, and one of its many islands, and the Northern Territory, with its unusual and stunning outback.

Climate:
Summer
Northern Australia 77 – 91 degrees
Central Australia 70 – 95 degrees
Southern Australia 57 – 79 degrees

Winter
Northern Australia 66 – 88 degrees
Central Australia 39 – 72 degrees
Southern Australia 43 – 59 degrees

Don’t recommend driving since the country is so vast. However, Tasmania is a great place to rent a car or a campervan.

Travel is the best education in the world. Experience different cultures, food, scenery and you will rate your visit downunder as one of the best holidays you have ever had.

Deal with an Aussie specialist who has been there, done that, and can tell you the pros and cons of what is worth seeing.

It’s fourteen and a half hours of flying time from the West Coast. That’s four meals, five movies and a nap. It’s the same amount of time for you to go from California to Rome, Italy. It’s a bargain, since you get $1.35 for your dollar, whereas the Euro is so expensive you can pay $8.00 for a cup of coffee and $16.00 for a glass of wine.

Go Downunder and have the trip of a lifetime.
