Best time to go is from April to August, pleasant weather and lower humidity. The islands of French Polynesia are in the South Pacific, about halfway between California and Australia. SCUBA DIVING IN TAHITI AND HER ISLANDS

Where:	Diving centers are found on 12 of the French Polynesia islands, Tahiti, Moorea, Huahine, Raiatea, Tahaa, Bora Bora, Rangiroa Manihi, Tikehau, Fakarava, Nuku Hiva and Rurutu
When:	Scuba diving is available and quite consistent in French Polynesia Throughout the year. However the best diving conditions are Between April and November
Local Diving Conditions:	Local visibility is approximately 130 feet. The average ocean Temperature is 79 degrees F in the winter season and 84 degrees In the summer. From the ocean surface to 166 feet below, there is only One half degree difference in temperature. A lightweight suit (1/8 inch) Or even a Lycra suit is sufficient for thermal protection throughout the Year
Ocean Life:	Scuba divers can observe exciting marine life from small butterfly fish and Attractive coral gardens to larger fish including napoleons, giant Barracudas, mantas, reef sharks, moray eels, sting rays, leopard rays, Giant trigger fisher, anemones, tunas, spondyles, gorgonians, grouper fish Hammerheads and snappers. Because sharks are not as aggressive in French Polynesia as in other parts of the world, it is possible to get close To them for pictures and observation.
Diving Areas:	Divers can choose among three adventurous areas of exploration: Lagoons. Crystal clear water fills these natural, somewhat shallow Swimming pools and attracts divers of all experience levels. These Lagoons are filled with sea life and offer a wonderful diving Experience. Depth:	Most of the diving takes place between 30 and 80 ft. Dives of 100-140 Ft are available for more experienced divers.
